Capacity Building Officer

Position: Policy Officer - Advocacy and capacity building

Location: Brussels

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract of 22 Months

Salary: Grade C (annual up to 33,809£) / local terms of employment apply

 

ActionAid is a member of Eurodad the European Network on Debt and Development. As part of the Global Engagement Team, you will support the EU Advocacy Advisor in delivering ActionAids contribution to build capacity of Eurodad members and partners to effectively advocating for economic justice at EU level and in other key multilateral organisations, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

 

Establishing a culture of excellence and innovation, you will ensure best advocacy and campaigning practices in order to inspire and promote the work of Eurodad members and partners and play a key role in influencing strategy and planning using our experiences and work. You will be instrumental in developing guidelines for strategic advocacy planning and monitoring, testing and evaluating their effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing training toolkits and setting up and animating effective and engaging training workshops to educate on Eurodads strategy in various areas. Importantly, you will bring a strong gender lens to Eurodads work and approaches, championing feminist leadership and diversity and inclusion principles.

 

With a degree in Economics, law or political science you must have experience in advocacy and policy analysis in an EU context and a good knowledge of EU decision making processes and institutions. You will be able to demonstrate a strong womens rights background and understanding of gender impact on economic policy. Most importantly, you must have a commitment to improvement of womens and human rights and decent work and public services.
