Project Assistant – Financial Flows and Financial Crime
Transparency International EU (TI EU) is looking for a motivated individual to join the team and assist in its work advancing EU policy and legislation on financial flows and financial crime. The successful candidate will support ongoing campaigns, such as on corporate tax transparency, extractive industries transparency, anti-money laundering and beneficial ownership transparency. S/he will organise internal and external events, contribute to TI EUs research and policy work, as well as the development of online tools. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the fundraising efforts of the office.
Main functions: Project and event management, research and policy analysis

Contract: Permanent
Salary: Grade I (salary range 1500 2500 EUR) an appointment will be expected to be made at the level of 1600 EUR + benefits, including mobile phone bill compensation, meal vouchers, transport, medical insurance and hospitalisation
Reporting: Reports to EU Policy Officer, Corporate Transparency
Key Responsibilities:
- Organisation of public events and seminars
- Providing support to high-level committees and working-groups
- Research aspects of corporate accountability and anti-money laundering issues for publications and communications work
- Monitoring and analysis of relevant information contained in corporate reports, annual accounts and other public documents
- Assist in the development of a new online platform
- Fundraising
Knowledge, experience and skills:
Requirements:
- Work permit for Belgium (before application)
- Masters degree or equivalent, preferably in political science, European studies, law, economics, international relations or another relevant field
- At least 1-2 years relevant work-experience and in the relevant areas of work
- Proven research skills
- Practical experience in organising public events
- Knowledge of the legal and policy framework of the EU institutions
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in English
- Team-player, practical approach to problem solving and ability to work in a small team in a multi-cultural working environment
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain a professional approach
- A commitment to the values and goals of Transparency International
Assets:
- Knowledge of policies relating to anti-corruption, corporate accountability and anti-money laundering
- Experience in advocacy in the NGO sector
- Experience in fundraising
- Working knowledge of other EU languages
- Ability to analyse large data sets
